Huge Update On Backstage Heat Against Stacy Keibler Story By: Matthew Boone July 13, 2002
There is a debate in the locker room as to which side wrestlers take on the management/Stacy Keibler drama as of late. Jim Ross stirred the pot when he questioned the theory of being a diva to being a blessing or a curse - which was directed towards Keibler.
Apparently Keibler has been skipping out on wrestling sessions with road agent Dave "Fit" Finlay citing exhaustion as her reason for missing the sessions. She has also been frowned upon for arriving to buildings for shows later than scheduled. She is usually one of the last people to show up, and earliest to leave.
However, some feel Keibler shouldn't be expected to practice wrestling claiming every WWE diva shouldn't have to prove they can take bumps. Some wrestlers feel Stacy is there to look good and mainly act in skits with Vince McMahon and other backstage segments, not get in the ring and wrestle. So those few feel she shouldn't be under fire for skipping out on wrestling sessions just to prove she can take bumps if she'll rarely ever need to and would only be skinned up and bruised when it comes time for her to step in front of the camera for her usual backstage skits.

Latest Update On Vader's Arrest, Court Date, more Story By: Will Hengelbrok July 13, 2002
In an update on the Vader arrest story from earlier this month, he was released from police custody on a $10,000 bond and is touring in Japan with Pro Wrestling Noah.
Vader will be appearing in court on July 25th in Boulder, Colorado to discuss the case and the charges against him. The list of charges against Vader include felony menacing, driving under the influence, obstructing a peace officer, careless driving and disorderly conduct.
For those who did not read the original article, Vader was arrested on several charges after getting into an incident with eight police from Boulder, as they came to his home investigating an accident that occurred when he crashed his car into a bush. When they questioned that he was drunk, Vader threatened to fight the police, but eventually allowed himself to be arrested.

Rob Van Dam Talks About Heyman, His WWE Schedule, more Story By: Will Hengelbrok July 14, 2002
- The following commentary is from Rob Van Dam's mailing list;
Well, it's been one year since I joined the fed. One year since my accessibility to my website had to be altered. Okay, it had to be virtually nonexistant. (Hey, I don't know if "virtually" really fit there but I figured with the internet-related subject, it might.)
Anyway...
After a year of persistent requests, I hope everyone appreciated the new Van Terminator. Brought it back this week, in an extreme way. As I've been saying for months: 'Well, I don't have Fonzie to hold the chair'...'maybe it's too hardcore'...'everyone's already seen Shane-O's version', etc.
Well, if Paul Heyman's insulting ECW fans in Philly didn't call for it, what would? And if I'm going to do a Van Terminator at this stage, I'm going to do a new version to top everything previously accomplished or imitated!
I'm bummed to learn that the Battle Creek show has been postponed. That sucks. I was looking forward to my homecoming debut. I'm going to need a little extra 'welcome home' support from Grand Rapids and Detroit to make up for it. Shouldn't be a problem.
I filmed another Ultimate Revenge television show. d**n, that Ryan Seacrest is everywhere now. Good for him.
Don't know when Black Mask 2 is coming out yet.
I see a lot of fans sporting the RVD foam thumbs at the arenas. Way cool. At last, the action figures are out and if you haven't checked out one of the new video games featuring yours truly...you got something real good to look forward to.
I wish I could get your feedback but I literally have no time to read email.
Where does my time go? Hmmm, let's see...
- Last week I left home on Thursday night to fly across the country to Washington, DC.
- Arrived Friday morning and met Spike and the limo at 1:30 to go to Six Flags for a two-hour promotion appearance from 3:00 to 4:30.
- Hour drive back to the arena for a 7:30 WWE show at the MCI center.
- Next morning I flew to New York City. Got picked up at LaGuardia for another two-hour appearance. RVD at Fun Time USA in Brooklyn from 1:00 to 3:00.
- After meeting hundreds and hundreds of RVD fans, which is always cool, it was time to head to Madison Square Garden for another night of wrestling action. I had a second ladder match with Guerrero here, that I think was better than the one everyone is still popping at from Raw.
- Just a hop, skip, and 125-mile drive to Uncasville, Ct and I'm there, checking into a hotel just in time to get not enough sleep.
- Next day of business starts with a two-hour DVD signing with Booker T. By the way, all of these appearances have outstanding turn outs, but what do you expect? They're here to see Rob Van Dam!
- Off to the Mohegan Sun Arena and another night of wrestling.
- Leaving the building that night, I had another 125 to drive to Manchester, NH. I'm glad when I can drive instead of flying. Flying gets sooooo old.
- Another short night at a hotel and it's time to start another day. Monday at 1:00 pm is the check in time at the Verizon Wireless Arena where Monday Night Raw takes place.
- After getting put through the announcer's table by the Vanilla Gorilla, I'm lucky to get out of there before midnight so I can find a great place to dine (yeah, right) and finally get some not-rest.
- I catch a 7:00 am flight out of there and I'm back in Los Angeles Tuesday.
Back home at last.
Now what will I do with my 65 hours or so off? Uhhh...sleeping sounds good.
That's the deal, RVD fans. Now try I need to fit in going to the gym, eating, returning phone calls - you know, regular everyday life things - but most importantly to me, spending quality time with SVD!
Glad to share with you a little bit of what's been happening with me. I'll try to find time to do this more often but in the meantime, you know where to find me every Monday Night."
-- Rob Van Dam
P.S. RobVanDam.com is in need of a few good men (women, too!) If you know html, web design, possess great writing skills and, of course, keep up with RVD, drop an email to webmaster@robvandam.com to see how you can help.
Thanks!

WWE Daytona, FL. House Show Results (7/13) Story By: Matthew Boone July 14, 2002
Overall, the show was decent. No Shawn Michaels, no Steve Austin of course, no Kevin Nash, X-Pac, Kane, Lita, Bubba Ray, or Jeff Hardy. So we got screwed out of a lot of the big name stars, but the show was still decent from top to bottom. Lot of microphone problems that pissed Finkel off a bit, but it was all situated after the third match or so. The arena was only about half-full, and you can't imagine what an insult that is seeing is how the building only sits about 6,000 at best.
D-Lo Brown vs. Steven Richards -D-Lo came out to a pretty good ovation, a lot of "D-Lo" chants surfaced during this bout. D-Lo did his usual trademark spots - the leg-drop, the Lowdown for the pin and the win. Richards didn't have much heat on him, but he wasn't exactly playing up to par anyways. Winner: D-Lo Brown
Matt Hardy & Trish Stratus vs. Raven & Molly Holly -This match was one of the more exciting of the show. Matt Hardy tried his d**ndest to get the crowd into it, and I would say he succeeded. Usual Hardy spots - the leg drop while screaming "huh" the twist of fate, and so on. Trish Stratus and Molly didn't have to do much working, but when they did, they got good pops from the crowd. Raven catered to the fans a bit as well pretty good. Match ended with Matt hit the twist of fate on Raven, and Trish hit the stratusfaction on Molly, they both covered their opposition for the 3-count. After the match, Raven and Molly hugged - Raven grabbed her ass, and Molly stormed off offended. Winners: Matt Hardy & Trish Stratus

WWE Daytona, FL. House Show Results (7/13) Story By: Matthew Boone July 14, 2002
Hardcore Championship Bradshaw (c) vs. Shawn Stasiak -Shawn Stasiak came out being announced as from "Planet Stasiak," followed by Bradshaw in his new hideous gear - well, I guess you could call it his old "Justin Hawk Bradshaw" gear. The match was pretty boring, crowd was dead for it. Too many rest spots, not a lot of action, and they failed to answer the table chants. Bradshaw lost the title to Justin Credible during a run-in, Stasiak then won it from Credible, and imagine this - back to Bradshaw for the finish. Winner: Bradshaw
Undisputed Championship Undertaker (c) vs. Rob Van Dam -Rob Van Dam was most over with the crowd, tons of "RVD" chants and a lot of people doing the thumb taunts. Undertaker came out and played to the crowd for about 3 minutes or so, my hat off to him - he busts his ass trying to get the crowd going and has everytime I see him live. The only person that comes to mind that is better playing to the crowd at a live non-television show would be Chris Jericho. The match was pretty long, and pretty decent. Undertaker couldn't finish RVD off with the chokeslam or a chair-shot. He went for the Last Ride, but didn't get it. RVD hit his rolling thunder, shoulder thrusts with a flip in the corner, and even the 5-star frogsplash, but to no avail. Undertaker got the win after he kicked a chair into RVD's face when the referee wasn't looking. After this match, about 1/4 of the crowd left. I guess they assumed an Undisputed title match where the opponent has the Intercontinental title, and arguably the two biggest names on the card wrestle, it is the main-event. Winner: Undertaker
Chris Benoit & Eddie Guerrero vs. Tommy Dreamer & Spike Dudley -This match was probably one of the best on the card. Poor Spike represented the Dreamer/Dudley team for nearly the entire match, which was around 15 minutes long. Benoit has the least amount of charisma of all the wrestlers on the card and was teaming with someone who had just about the most in Eddie Guerrero. Lot of good action from Guerrero in this one, his trademark spots included. Match ended when Benoit nailed Dreamer, I believe, with the Crippler Crossface as Tommy tapped out. Winners: Chris Benoit & Eddie Guerrero
Christopher Nowinski w/ William Regal vs. Goldust -William Regal came out to personally announce the entrance of "the only American he has any respect for" as he welcomed Christopher Nowinski. Goldust followed to an usual dead crowd. Normally, Goldust is well over in these parts, but not so much tonight. The match started with Christopher Nowinski getting down to the four-point stance like he did against Bradshaw on RAW. Went about 7 minutes or so with the match ended when Nowinski nailed Goldust with the brass knucks supplied by William Regal. The two hugged, and walked off. Winner: Christopher Nowinski
Booker T vs. Big Show -Big Show came out to his music/nWo mix to a pretty good pop actually, followed by Booker T who was pretty over with the crowd. Lot of knife-edge chops in this one, some that got the "oohs" and "ahhs" from the crowd when Big Show slapped his big meat-hook across Booker's chest. Booker responded by chopping Big Show what seemed to be like 15 times leading to Big Show breaking character a bit as he started laughing because Booker was going pretty insane with the chopping. Match ended when Booker T got Big Show with the scissors kick. If Booker T did the spinarooni, I didn't see it. Winner: Booker T
Brock Lesnar vs. Ric Flair -Brock Lesnar came out without Paul Heyman. On the official WWE website and program at the arena it was listed that Paul Heyman was "barred from the building" but they never mentioned anything of the sort. Ric Flair came out to his usual "WHOOO" response from the crowd. At almost every silent point in the show the crowd would belt out a "WHOOO" or two. Match was pretty good with Brock Lesnar controlling it for the most-part. Flair got the figure four leg-lock at one point, but Lesnar quickly grabbed the ropes. Flair went to do something and Lesnar caught him for the F-5 and the pin. Winner: Brock Lesnar

Hogan Upset With McMahon, More WWE Changes, & More Story By: Matthew Boone July 14, 2002
Apparently Hulk Hogan was not consulted before Vince McMahon decided to hire Vince Russo back to the company. AOL/Time Warner is picking up the tab for Vince Russo's legal expenses in the lawsuit against Hogan while they also gave him the green light to accept Vince McMahon's offer to return to WWE. Meanwhile, other wrestlers in WWE had gotten wind of McMahon's interest in hiring Russo before he made the actual move.
Shane McMahon was backstage at King of the Ring, RAW, and SmackDown! last week. This comes off as a little odd as Shane McMahon is notorious for making stops at pay-per views and casually missing RAW and SmackDown! the same week.
WWE changed its stock ticket symbol from WWF to WWE. Originally, the symbol was WWFE, but then was changed to just WWF last year. Now that the company is publicly referred to as WWE, they changed their stock ticket symbol accordingly.

nWo's New Main-Eventer, Angle/RVD/Edge, HBK Update Story By: Matthew Boone July 14, 2002
The following are rumors (and I stress the word RUMORS) from BlackJack Brown and the Chicago Sun Times:
As a solution to the nWo taking the blow of losing Hollywood Hogan, Scott Hall, and now Kevin Nash for a more long-term basis than his first injury resulted in, WWE is expected to begin pushing new talent. Edge, Kurt Angle, and RVD are three names at the top of everyones list in WWE to spend crucial time in elevating over the next few months. Some say there is talk of giving Big Show a chance at a legitimate run attempting to regain his glory days from WCW and giving the nWo a much needed boost at the same time.
Rumors are running the rounds recently that Vince McMahon has made it known he would clear his schedule for the opportunity to meet with Bill Goldberg about the possibility of coming in to work with WWE. According to Jim Ross, however, there has been no conversations between Goldberg's represenatives and WWE in the recent weeks.
Word going around the locker room, as we have reported lately, is that Shawn Michaels has been openly discussing the possibility of returning to the ring with friends backstage. The one thing above all else that is stopping Michaels is his concern of not being near 100 percent.

HHH In New Angle, RAW Promo/nWo, Stephanie Returning Story By: Brendan Starr July 14, 2002
Triple H recently nixed an angle involving newcomer John Cena. Details are sketchy but it did involve Cena and Jericho. Although HHH is not on the writing staff his opinion is highly regarded.
Tomorrow night's RAW will include a promo by the remaining members of the nWo. Also expect the RVD/Lesnar rivalry to progress.
Stephanie McMahon will be at Tuesday night's Smackdown tapings. Although it is possible that she could make an on-air appearance, it is more likely that she will be attending as part of the writing team.
