The Rock May Quit Wrestling, Scott Steiner's Return; more
- Thanks to Ejrin for sending the following news bit:
I just finished watching the news here in St. Louis. Where our news had some hot topics on some movie stars. I was surprised when they talked abut The Rock. They said that he is getting a lot of opportunities to star in more movies. This could mean that if The Rock turns to movies, and accepts the roles, he could not be coming back to the wrestling business anytime soon. But one funny thing when they talked about The Rock, they said "a former wrestling superstar". I think they made a mistake, but again, they could be right.
- The WWA has an advertisement in a British news paper with Scott Steiner as the main attraction. Steiner is scheduled to be in London in mid November. So I’d imagine it would be then.

Monday Night Ratings, New WWE Video Game; & More
- Based on the overnights in the top 53 metered markets during the time period head-to-head with Raw last night, the Seahawks-49ers game did a 10.0 rating which means it'll probably end up doing one of the lower ratings in the history of the show. This was largely due to baseball head-to-head with the Giants clinching, which did a 6.6 in the period opposite Raw. The highest rated stuff last night was CBS with Raymond at 14.5, Still Standing at 11.1 and CSI-Miami at 13.9. Once the final Raw rating comes in we'll have it.
- THQ and Jakks Pacific announced yesterday the North American releases of the new WWE Raw for the PC video game featuring 35 wrestlers from both Raw and SmackDown! brand shows.

Major Updates On Gunn/Patterson Injuries, RAW Backstage News
Both Billy Gunn and Pat Patterson were flown to Birmingham, AL today to be seen by Dr. James Andrews. Both guys seem to have suffered shoulder injuries. It's not clear right now whether the injuries are serious or not. Gunn will not be a part of tonight's SmackDown! tapings.
People from the FOX network were at yesterdays Tokyo Dome show to film a segment on Chyna taking Japanese wrestling by storm.
The reason that Christian and Chris Jericho cut a promo before RAW went live on the air last night is because WWE did not want to take the chance of the live Canadian crowd giving the two face pops when they came out.

Backstage WWE News: Kane Murder Story, Road Agents, more
Most of the talent on the RAW roster thought the Kane murder story from this past Monday was terribly scripted, and came off as bad as everyone who has sent in feedback online thought it was. Unfortunately, due to ratings holding strong for the angle, and McMahon's mind set on going this direction, we will most likely have to find a way to put up with it for a while.
Terry Taylor will be at this Sunday's No Mercy pay-per view. While it isn't confirmed, rumors indicate Taylor wasn't at RAW or SmackDown! this week for whatever reason. Taylor's role in the company is not yet specified, but the last word is he was given a trial basis as road agent, but may have not been picked up full time yet. His idea for the Hell in a Cell between Undertaker and Brock Lesnar could make or break his job depending on how the match goes this Sunday.

HHH/RVD/No Mercy News, Stephanie, New Divas Shoot, & More
At WWE's house show this weekend, RVD is scheduled to take on Ric Flair. The match will be used as a warm-up for both men as they will be competing at No Mercy. Additionally, WWE added a "stipulation" to that house show match claiming that HHH is barred from the building. In actuality, that is only an excuse for HHH not being there, as he will be commentating at the Mr. Olympia PPV that night. WWE is known to use that stipulation when an uppercard talent cannot make a show.
Stephanie McMahon will be on Howard Stern tomorrow at about 8:30 AM EST.
This Friday's edition of "Extra" will feature a behind-the-scenes look at the recent WWE Diva photoshoot in Arizona. Any fans of the divas may be interested in checking that out.

Lennox Lewis Comments On Working With WWE
The following is an article from TSN.ca:
TSN.ca – Lennox Lewis in a WWE event is becoming more of a reality as each day passes.
The IBF and WBC boxing champion was at a promotional event for the Breeders Crown at Toronto’s Woodbine Racetrack on Tuesday and told reporters that he was ‘in discussions’ with World Wrestling Entertainment about appearing in an upcoming event.
Lewis - who was also in town to prepare for a tribute to legendary boxer Muhammad Ali at SkyDome on Sunday - only added that the discussions between himself and WWE have been mutual and alluded to the fact that he would likely make an appearance as a special observer or referee. WWE was in Toronto the same day for a taping of Smackdown!, but was not available for comment.
If signed for an appearance, Lewis would continue a long tradition of crossovers between the world of pro boxing and sports entertainment.
On June 26, 1976, Japanese wrestling legend Antonio Inoki was involved in a bout with Ali. The former champion also made an appearance as a guest official at the first WrestleMania at Madison Square Garden in 1985. Short-lived World Heavyweight Champion James “Buster” Douglas made an appearance with Hulk Hogan as a ring official in a 1989 episode of “Saturday Night’s Main Event,” while novelty boxer Butterbean made very short work of Bart Gunn in a boxing match at WrestleMania XV.
The most infamous appearance by a boxer was at WrestleMania in 1998, when Mike Tyson made an appearance as a ‘special enforcer’ in the main event between Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

WWE Wants Your Opinion, Billy's Injury, Torrie/Kidman
- In somewhat of an interesting note, WWE.com's Raw results page has added a feature where you can send feedback on what you thought about this last weeks show. I imagine they'll do the same for the SmackDown! results, if your more of a SmackDown! fan.
- Billy Kidman and Torrie Wilson will be making an appearance tomorrow night at Cherry's Bar and Grill in Ybor City, FL for a free SmackDown! wrestling party if you didn't already hear. The Bar will bring in WWE wrestlers that live in the Tampa area every Thursday for new SmackDown! related events.
- Billy Gunn was diagnosed with a separated shoulder and at last word, they don't believe he will have to undergo surgery.

Stacy Speaks On Posing For Divas 2003, Other Divas, & More
The following are highlights from an article over at WWE.com:
As I reported earlier this afternoon, the WWE Divas Arizona shoot is complete and a special will be featured on Extra this Friday night. The magazine itself comes out in April of 2003.
Stacy mentioned that the photos were shot in a ghost town. The scenery in the town was unbelievable and Stacy felt that “The Polaroids that we took look like they were studio shots taken in front of a fake background because the scenery there was so amazing.” Stacy gives a spoiler of the magazine as well, saying that she did some shots in a black and white thong.
Keibler also announces that each of the thirteen divas in the magazine went for their own look. Stacy feels she went for more of a "cute" look (like her school-girl outfit from Undressed, for example) while some of the other divas posed in a sexier fashion.

Nash Speaks On His Return, HBK/HHH, Hall's Status, more
The following are re-written interview highlights with Kevin Nash:
On his injury progress ... » Nash feels he's doing good, but his right knee is still pretty bad. His right knee was bad before he was injured, so he hopes that he can work on both knees during his off-time, and come back better than he was when he left. He last saw his doctor about 10 days ago. He is currently rehabbing in Daytona Beach, Florida. At this point, he's being re-taught how to walk.
On when he wants to return ... » Nash hopes to be back in action around January, in time for the Royal Rumble. He mentioned HHH took nine months to return from a similar injury, so if he made it back by January, he'd have made it back three months faster than Hunter. However, when his knee swells up he has to go easy on rehabbing, and if he is rehabbing too much it will swell up causing him to stop. It's frustrating for the former WWE world champion.
On what he has been doing lately ... » Nash is in the gym every morning to train his body. He is still able to do cardiovascular workouts. He gets up every morning at 7:00am and takes his son to school. From there, he heads to the gym which is usually around 8:30. He trains for an hour to an hour and a half, then has lunch. By that time his son is ready to be picked up from school. After that, he's a father for the rest of the day and is usually in bed by 11:00pm.
On why he wants to return ... » Nash has seen the business go up and down. When you love pro wrestling as much as he does, you always want to stick around, especially to see the business go up again.
On Scott Hall's status ... » Nash actually talked to Scott Hall today. He has been doing good lately, raising his kids. He hasn't been facing any personal problems lately, but did miss a few shows for NWA-TNA because his babysitter pulled out at the last minute. Hall refused to leave his two young children alone in the house by themselves. He mentioned that Hall has only had a drink once in the past 39 days.
On working with Shawn Michaels ... » Nash does want to work with Shawn Michaels as his tag-team partner, preferably in a match at WrestleMania. He would like it to be himself and Shawn against Hunter and someone else.

More Details On Why Steve Austin Walked Out On WWE
The following news is derived and re-written from the Pro Wrestling Torch newsletter.
Even friends of Josh Mathews from the first season of Tough Enough are surprised at how big his ego has gotten since he was hired on the production side of WWE. Josh, who attempted to get into WWE as a wrestler, has since been "taken under the wing" of WWE executive producer Kevin Dunn and used in international announcing situations.
One of the least talked about reasons Steve Austin walked out on WWE was the fact that he was paranoid over the decision to job to Brock Lesnar on RAW the night that he did leave the company and flew back home to Texas with his wife. Austin, known for a long time to be paranoid (one example was when he felt Owen Hart had purposely botched the piledriver spot in which Austin nearly broke his neck) felt that Lesnar was going to make him look bad during the match as punishment for Austin walking out after WrestleMania X8.

Bret Hart/WWE Return Update, Backstage NWA-TNA Notes
Source: WWE.com, Various
-- Many readers have emailed and posted on discussion forums saying two different things about the usage of Bret Hart’s entrance music and image on RAW this week, to promote the WWE Anthology CD.
Firstly, some say that it is obviously a sign that Hart will return to the federation. That is completely false, as Hart rejected a huge offer to come out at WrestleMania and hit Vince McMahon in front of a live audience.
Secondly, some say that Hart can sue Vince if he didn’t like the way his image was portrayed on WWE TV. However, that is also false, since the music is WWE property, and secondly, since it was a clip from the WWE archive, also owned by WWE.
-- Just a reminder that WWE Tough Enough 3 commences with the casting special tonight
-- And finally, if you watched the NWA-TNA PPV last night then you may’ve noticed how the crowd was smaller than in recent weeks.
This depreciation of in-house viewage was down to the fact that there were major road works on the way to the TNA Asylum, with only one lane accessible on the two lane road, and lots of Red Lights scattered in-between.
One other small note from NWA-TNA last night, Mike Sanders of WCW fame was backstage at the show.

Huge Surprise Announcement From WWE, Tough Enough III, & More
Both Kane and Victoria are going to appear on WWE's Byte This! webcast tomorrow on WWE.com. The show kicks off at 4 PM EST. There will most likely be talk on the recent Kane/murderer angle from RAW, as well as heavy No Mercy promotion from both special guests. Additionally, WWE.com has confirmed that a surprising and exciting announcement will be made on the show tomorrow. It is not known what they will announce but I wouldn't hope for anything too major considering that the show is not the most effective method of promotion WWE has, acknowledging the small audience it gets compared to RAW and Smackdown.
As a reminder, Tough Enough III begins tonight on MTV right after Smackdown. The ratings for Tough Enough should be very interesting for this show, considering the current WWE ratings.

Huge Update On 4-Horsemen Return To WWE
WWE creative team has designed a new long term plan to bring back the 4-Horsemen stable to the RAW brand.
As of this writing, the plan is to have Triple H in the leader role (as Ric Flair was originally), and Ric Flair in the edler statesman role (as JJ Dillon was originally).
In addition to that, WWE would have Randy Orton after his heel turn is completed join the stable as the rookie role (as Barry Windham was originally), and Batista in the enforcer role (as Arn Anderson and Sid Vicious were originally).
There is no word on a time frame of when this angle will take place, or if Arn Anderson will be involved. Obviously, Anderson could be part of this since he is currently a road agent for WWE. With everything going on in WWE lately, hot-shot angles like HLA and murders, there is no way to confirm that these plans will ever come to fruition.
