Kevin Nash Speaks Out On Rehab, Eric Bischoff, more
The following is part four of an interview with Kevin Nash from KevinNash.net:
Nash’s rehab includes electric stimulation, squats, machine work, work with ankle weights and more. "Welcome to my world," he said. "But the leg feels good today." It eventually bends to 100 degrees – and Nash is quite pleased. The doctors are, too.
In his first sit-down interview following the injury, Nash spoke with former WCW Magazine editor Ross Forman.
Ross: What about Eric Bischoff’s arrival in the WWE?
Kevin: It’s great that he’s back. I was really hoping he could have come in when we came in. Eric does a good job. He gives them another person to weave the story lines around. It’s great seeing him on TV. I knew he’d contribute, and he is. That said, it was strange seeing him on WWE TV for the first time. It wa almost surreal the first time. To see him and Vince hug, that was strange.
Ross: Vince McMahon and Eric Bischoff always have had a unique relationship, wouldn’t you say?
Kevin: Vince is the top of the mountain, and anytime anyone can go up against Vince – and have success, like Eric did – it’s a huge feather in your cap. And, in retrospect, I think Vince realizes that, that he’s the benchmark and always will be. Same for his company; it’s always been The Show. Even when we were in Atlanta and doing well, we always thought that (the WWF) was The Show. We knew The Show would always rebound, and it will again. Wrestling is down right now, but it’ll fire back up.

Backstage RAW News, HLA, New Match, HHH/RVD, more
An answer to the question, "does controversy equal ratings?" will be answered this week as WWE is planning to go forward with some sort of lesbian angle again on tonight's RAW. It should be interesting to see if the entire show is built around it again this week, which led to ratings disaster last week, or if it is just another segment thrown on the program tonight.
Expect some sort of storyline tonight and/or tomorrow to set up Billy & Chuck vs. Rosie & Jamal for Unforgiven. Rosie and Jamal are RAW talents, and Billy & Chuck are SmackDown! talents so despite this being the final week to promote the match for Unforgiven, they will have the opportunity to do so on both brand programs.
Expect at least two or three new matches to be announced for Unforgiven on tonight's RAW. This is the final RAW before the pay-per view this coming Sunday, and there are only three confirmed matches, two being SmackDown! - Undertaker/Brock Lesnar, Chris Benoit/Kurt Angle, one being RAW - Triple H/Rob Van Dam.

Taken from today's newsletter from Collin Vassallo's wrestling newsletter:
BSKYB DEFEND THEIR POSITION ON WWE BROADCASTS - W-O Newsletter reader Colin Murtagh contacted Sky regarding the cuts they're doing on both RAW & Smackdown! A Sky representative told our reader that the company in general does not edit WWE programming. They are sent a version from WWE which basically is already edited. However Sky do edit some scenes which the ITC (Independent Television commission) may deem to be unacceptable.

Steve Austin's WWE Status, RVD/HHH, Brock Lesnar, more
The following news is derived from the Pro Wrestling Torch newsletter.
It appears as though a Steve Austin return to WWE is further away then ever at this point. Due to domestic problems surrounding Austin, and the fact that professionally he was buried by WWE, Austin has given off the impression that he has no desire to return to the WWE at this time. However, we have all learned to 'never say never' in the wrestling business. At this point, an Austin return to WWE is as close to 'never' as possible.
It's looking as though Rob Van Dam vs. Triple H for the RAW heavyweight championship will be the main-event at the Unforgiven pay-per view this coming Sunday. Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker for the SmackDown! heavyweight championship will most likely be held as the second-to-last match on the show. This is mainly due to the fact that at SummerSlam the main-event was a SmackDown! brand match with Michael Cole and Tazz announcing, which would likely indicate the RAW brand world title match being saved for the main-event at Unforgiven with Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler calling the bout. Also, WWE is known for leaving a babyface win at the end of the show, rather than a heel win, to send viewers away with a good taste in their mouth. RVD's chances of going over Triple H are a lot better than Undertaker preveiling against Brock Lesnar.

Backstage RAW News: JR/Lawler, Jericho, & More
Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross were not shown on camera the entire show during last night's RAW. This, much like last week, was mainly due to the fact that Lawler underwent cosmetic surgery. Last week, Lawler wore sunglasses and binoculars to cover up swelling and discoloration of his face, aftermath of the surgery performed.
Chris Jericho will be a guest on "The Best d**n Sports Show Period" on Fox Sports this coming Friday, September 20. Other guests listed for the show that particular day include Carson Daly, Bill Romanowski, Kellin Winslow, Artie Gigantino, Wayne Root, and Tony Bruno.

Steve Austin vs. Goldberg, Rock/Britney Spears, & More
The following news is from the Pro Wrestling Torch newsletter.
Steve Austin's next pay-per view match could end up being against none other than Bill Goldberg. Both Austin and Goldberg have been friends for a few years now and have always had small discussions about the possibility of working against each other in a co-promoted event outside the WWE. While Austin is restrained due to his contract with WWE, even though it is technically 'suspended', talks have once again picked up about the possibility of the two promoting their own show for pay-per view with a main event featuring what many have considered a 'dream match' Steve Austin vs. Bill Goldberg.
The Rock made a cameo appearance in the ABC Family movie entitled "Long Shot." Britney Spears also made a cameo appearance in the movie which aired prime time on ABC on September 15.

New Rock DVD, Kane/No Mercy, Bagwell
WWE will be releasing a special 2-disc "Collectors Edition" of "The Rock: Just Bring It!" on October 1st.
Kane's mask is featured on the promotional poster for WWE's next PPV, No Mercy. Usually these posters have little indication as to what will actually happen on the show.
Buff Bagwell will also make his NWA: TNA return tomorrow on what is shaping up to be the biggest TNA show yet. Bagwell joins Sean Waltman, Scott Hall, and Road Dogg as being scheduled to appear on the show tomorrow.

Lawsuit Filed Over Death Of California Wrestling Student
Complaint Filed by Law Firm Hersh & Hersh Against Bay Area Pro Wrestling School -- All Pro Wrestling
Sept. 17, 2002--
Student Dies of Injuries Suffered in Wrestling "Boot Camp" When Pitted Against Massive Sparring Partner The San Francisco law firm of Hersh & Hersh (www.hershlaw.com) filed a complaint at the Superior Court of California in Alameda County against Roland Alexander, founder of All Pro Wrestling (www.allprowrestling.com) and Pacific Coast Sports Promotion companies. The complaint was made on behalf of the parents of Brian Ong of Berkeley, California who died as a result of injuries suffered during All Pro Wrestling's "Boot Camp" training. Headquartered in Hayward, California, Alexander's company bills itself as the number one wrestling school in America and markets wrestling "Boot Camps" to amateurs as a chance to "Live Your Dream" as a professional wrestler by providing wrestling training camps, career counseling and talent agency services to wrestling amateurs at fees of $6,000 or more.
Mr. Ong, age 24, enrolled in All Pro Wrestling's Hayward, CA Boot Camp and was fatally injured as a result of being thrown to the ground in a practice wrestling maneuver. According to the complaint, Mr. Ong suffered a concussion during a practice session and instead of being advised to seek medical attention and take time off from his training to fully recover, he was given a lower evaluation for not avoiding injuries and was told to continue practicing and performing.
The complaint goes on to state that Mr. Ong, at 5 feet, 7 inches and 185 pounds, was subsequently pitted against a sparring partner more than twice his size and that the enormous disparity in size between Mr. Ong and his opponent, a massive 7 feet, 3 inches and weighing 400 pounds, increased the risk of harm to Mr. Ong. He was thrown twice off his sparring partner's shoulders, lost consciousness when his head hit the floor and died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. All Pro Wrestling did not provide Mr. Ong with any protective gear or any supervision by APW staff, and the floor mats provided were not adequate to cushion the impact of such maneuvers.
"All Pro Wrestling lures wrestling `wanna be's' with the promise of fame and fortune on the exhibition wrestling circuit," stated Nancy Hersh, partner of Hersh & Hersh. "Legitimate wrestling organizations would never pair-up sparring partners from weight classes at such opposite ends of the spectrum. Tragically for Mr. Ong's family, they lost their son as a result of All Pro Wrestling's negligence and deceit."
The complaint, seeking damages and requesting a jury trial for injuries causing death and for fraudulent contract charges, will proceed to trial within the near future.
About Hersh & Hersh Hersh & Hersh is a San Francisco-based law firm dedicated to protecting the safety and rights of consumers. The law firm represents clients both on an individual level and in class and multi-district litigation, and has pursued and won a wide range of civil suits, from product liability, medical malpractice and insurance bad faith to sexual harassment and employee discrimination.
For the past 32 years, Hersh & Hersh has been committed to using the law to protect individuals by making sure companies exercise due diligence in manufacturing their products and operate in good faith in delivering their services.

College Professor Comments On ProWrestling & America
The Philadelphia Inquirer features a lengthy story on a pro wrestling course that is being offered by Penn State-Altoona. The course is taught by professor David Parry, a wrestling fan since the 1960s, who also teaches philosophy.
"This gets them thinking," Parry said. "If you understand professional wrestling, you understand America. There's a current that runs through American cultural life where we have this will to see the exact opposite of what we're actually seeing. Watch CNN's 'Crossfire.' It's a bad version of professional wrestling.
"If students can understand that, they can understand other things, too. If they know they are being lied to by Vince McMahon, nothing Al Gore or George Bush says is going to get past them."
The story also notes that Parry requires his students to watch televised wrestling shows and subscribe to either the Pro Wrestling Torch or Wrestling Observer newsletters.
