More Raw News & Notes: Triple H Fights Fan, Injuries, More
- Since I did attend Raw last night, I have some more distinctive facts of what happened off air, behind the scenes, etc.
- Kind of interesting, Howard Finkel got on the mic to welcome everyone to the show, then let Lillian do the rest. I have no clue why they didn't just use Lillian. Maybe their finding less to do with Howard. But that's besides the point.
- The crowd in Anaheim was very into the show. Several people brought upside down flags as well as Canadian flags. They got booed all night. the guy next to me even mooned them.
- Spike Dudley wrestled Raven on Heat. Spike laid down in the ring holding his neck for about 2 minutes. The ref had to get in and tell him to get out as they were getting ready to go live to raw.
- A couple celebrities were on hand, The porno star Kendra Jade was signing autographs and taking pictures in the 3rd row. And Meredith Brooks was on hand, although I’m not sure what show she's from.
- I guess I lucked out because the guy in the seat in front of me never showed up. So I had a pretty good view from the floor seats.
- You can tell Bubba was getting worn down in the main event, RVD was hurt as well so Bubba did most of the work for him. He was holding his arm for most of the match. When the match ended he seemed really hurt.
- After the show went off the air, Triple H just taunted the fans. He went around the ring yelling at the fans to come get him.
- Overall the fan reaction was good from last nights show, After it ended Lillian got on the mic and said they appreciated how lively we were and are in the makes of coming back to Anaheim.

No Mercy Matches, Nicole Bass/WWE Trial, More
- Apparently, Arnold Schwarzeneggar donated an autographed jacket from his movie "Collateral Damage" for the fund raiser for "Superstar" Billy Graham. The event will take place on October 5th in Wakefield, MA at the Americal Civic Center. Also on the show will be Brian Lawler and Kid Kash.
- The New York Times ran a story today about the Nicole Bass trial. No great revelations have come from this. Bass testified today that Steve Lombardi on a flight to England in 1999 grabbed her boobs and pressed his body and grinded her against a wall as she whimpered. Lombardi smirked during testimony. Bass testified when it came to pro wrestling, she was a fast learner.
- Look for the Bubba Ray/Triple H feud to heat up going into No Mercy, which will most likely set up a match if Bubba Ray is physically able to compete.

WWE Expected To Expand Pay-Per View Schedule
The following news is from the PWTorch newsletter.
WWE is planning on expanding their pay-per view schedule in the year of 2003. WWE is discussing the possibility of running up to as many as 19 pay-per views on a yearly basis.
The current plan would be to have RAW have their own pay-per views, and SmackDown! to have their own. Both RAW and SmackDown! would then combine rosters for the 5 "big" pay-per views each year including WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, King of the Ring, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series.
WWE represenatives have had preliminary talks with InDemand officials earlier this year about the possibility of expanding their pay-per view schedule, but discussions ceased when business started to go down.
Early speculation is WWE will run the first split pay-per view in February between Royal Rumble and WrestleMania.

Louisiana Citizens Outraged With WWE's "Hurricane" Gimmick, more
Source: DE Newswire
Facing the onslaught of Tropical Storm Isidore, the normally laid-back citizens of Louisiana and Mississippi aren't too happy with Vince McMahon and the WWE.
A hurricane watch stretched some 300 miles from Cameron in southwestern Louisiana to Pascagoula, Miss., and Mississippi Gov. Ronnie Musgrove declared a state of emergency for his state.
"The World Wrestling Federation are the most insensitive group on TV," says La. native, Greg Jamerson. "They could be using some of those millions they make to help out. People have already lost their homes and lives down here from these storms and they show a wrestler on Monday named 'Hurricane'".
"Business is dead and there are no women here to give beads to," complained Brian Lovell, manager of the Dixieland Hot Spot on Bourbon Street. "They could at least send a diva or two or three down to get our spirits up."
New Orleans, the nation's biggest city with a low point below sea level, prepared for heavy rain by closing flood walls, putting all pumping stations in full operation, sandbagging roads near the water and even asking hospitals to delay elective surgeries.

Bubba Ray Dudley Injury Update, Backstage RAW News
Lance Storm addressed his condition after taking a nasty fall on the top of his head at Unforgiven. The fall was a mistake on the part of Bubba Ray, who Storm said has been dealing with numbness of his arm lately, as mentioned by the official WWE website regarding Monday's RAW. Apparently Bubba Ray aggrivated his arm further on the show, and could miss some action. Storm said despite being dizzy for a few minutes after the bump at Unforgiven, he was alright. He mentioned some stiffness after the show, but said massage therapy and good karma cleared it right up.
Ultimo Dragon was backstage at Unforgiven and RAW this past week. Most remember Dragon for his time in WCW where he was badly injured. Others remember him as one of the best workers of the past decade and producing a lot of young good talent he trains on a regular basis. He stopped by the shows this past week just to say hello to some friends.

Scott Steiner/WWE Update, Billy Gunn's Contract, more
The following news is from the PWTorch newsletter.
Jim Ross continues to down rumors of discussions about bringing in Scott Steiner to the WWE. Steiner himself is said to be spreading rumors about himself returning to WWE in hopes of creating such a popular demand for the move to be made, that WWE would go ahead and do just that. Meanwhile, Jeremy Borash from NWA-TNA has gone on record as predicting Scott Steiner will be returning to the ring next month.
There is a rumor going around the locker room on the SmackDown! roster that Billy Gunn has been working for WWE without a contract for the past few weeks/months. The legitimacy of those rumors have not really surfaced thus far, but there is no question a lot of talk behind the curtains of that being the case.

WWE News & Notes: Hulk Hogan News, New Video Game - Thanks to Sonia for sending the following: While I was watching GROUNDED FOR LIFE on FOX, I saw a commercial advertising the newest edition of the classic board game, Trivial Pursuit. It's the Brand new 20th Anniversary Edition which includes ONLY questions from the last twenty years. During the commercial, quick clips of famous people and recent events were flashing across the screen, and I was amazed to see Hollywood Hulk Hogan included in the montage, sporting his sunglasses, feather boas, and red & yellow gear! At the end of the ad, the voiceover thanked Kato (Kaelin) and everyone else who's made the last 20 years so memorable. Considering he's now made it into one of the mainstaples of American boardgames, I think NOW he can truly call himself "Immortal." - Acclaim will release "Legends of Wrestling II" on October 25. The official website is www.legendsofwrestling2.com/. Only 8 wrestlers have been announced. They are: Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Andre The Giant, Bruno Sammartino, Scott Steiner, Jerry Lawler, and Sid Vicious. One of the new features is a $15,000 Body Slam Challenge with Big John Studd.

No Mercy Screw-ups, Trish/Edge News, More
- An interesting note, on WWENoMercy.com, if you click on the 'History' page, it goes to 1999s No Mercy. Click the photos for that night, it opens to the LESBIANS introducing themselves to Spike Dudley from 2 weeks ago. Also, the WWE has realized their screw up with the nipple slip of Jackie picture on Raw. If you go to it now it repeats a picture of the band member that came before the nip slip.
- At the Rite Aid Health and Beauty Expo at the Pontiac Silverdome, WWE Superstars Trish Stratus and Edge will be making appearances with Trish being there at 2 PM on Friday the 27th and Edge being there on Saturday the 28th at 1:15 PM. It's at the East Gate of the Dome. Admission is free and since it doesn't say otherwise the autographs are probably free too.

No WWE In Australia, SmackDown! Pre-Emption
- Apparently, the Australian cable company, FOXTEL that shows the wrestling (only company that shows it) has announced it will not be buying the rights to wrestling once their contracts run out because the WWE has doubled the rate that they value there shows at. This was reported a couple weeks ago but was not confirmed, as it is now. One show runs out in two months and the other in about six. This means that WWE will have no presence in Australia apart from the internet.
- In Sacramento, CA, Thursday's SmackDown! has been displaced for the past three weeks because of San Francisco Giants' baseball games. The show is played on Saturday at the same time as WWE Confidential is on TNN. If this is the case in other markets as well, it may explain Confidential’s very poor showing ratings-wise recently.

Tough Enough 3, Buff Bagwell Appearances, More
- The five finalists for the next season of Tough Enough were in the front row at the SmackDown! tapings. I doubt they'll be identified as such, but if you see them, you may know who is and isn't getting cut when the show starts airing which I believe is next month.
- Buff Bagwell will be appearing at the Central Elementary School in Greensboro on Friday at 1:15 p.m. to talk to the children about staying in school, not talking to strangers, and to not try and imitate pro-wrestling moves at home.
- Dawn Marie will be hosting SmackDown! at the 'World' in Times Square this coming Thursday.

Goldberg/WWE Negotiations, Major RAW Coming, more
The following news is from the PWTorch newsletter.
So many questions regarding the latest movements in the Bill Goldberg to WWE front. The bottom line is, there isn't much of any movement. Goldberg still has dates to work for Japan and has been doing random personal appearances. In fact, as far as personal appearances are concerned, Goldberg is booked several months in advance. When talking to those close to Goldberg, many insist that if the money is right, and the amount of dates is right, they wouldn't be shocked if Goldberg ended up in WWE in the future. However, many claim Goldberg is not willing to work a heavy house show schedule, and would mainly want the minimum dates on his contract to mostly consist of television and pay-per view shows.
WWE is expected to promote the 500th episode of RAW to the moon. WWE is rapidly approaching episode number 500 in the multi-year sports entertainment phenom known as RAW. There are plans in the works to launch a huge mainstream advertising campaign to promote the show, in hopes of those who have stopped watching over the years will see what they are up to lately. To say they will be doing everything possible to make sure the show is a success, is quite an understatement.

Steve Austin's WWE Walkout, Solomon Update, WWE Booking Team
As announced at the end of this past weekend's edition of WWE Confidential, a repeat of the show that featured Stone Cold's walkout will be airing this Saturday. The show also featured an interview with Bobby Heenan about his battle with cancer and Kurt Angle's life before WWE. The interviews with Vince and JR (concerning Austin) on the episode were very controversial, so if you missed the original airing, you might find the show interesting to check out this Saturday.
WWE is currently looking for a "TV Storyline Continuity/Researcher", as stated in an ad on Hotjobs.com. That is proof right there that WWE is aware of the poor booking in the past several months.
Brian Solomon posted a follow-up column addressing his "Shut Up and Wrestle" post from last week on WWE.com. He claims that reports of negative backlash were false, but that seems very doubtful. In saying that, Solomon is stating that his point of view means nothing as no one in WWE cares what he wrote, which is kind of odd considering he is a member of the booking team.

Scott Hall/Syxx-Pac Causing Backstage Controversy
The following news is from the PWTorch newsletter.
Sean Waltman and Scott Hall are already causing controversy behind the scenes in NWA-TNA, however it is nothing really major at this point.
Many of the loyal NWA-TNA wrestlers who have created names in that company and really been a big part of their weekly pay-per views were upset when they informed that there wasn't enough time to have them on during the tag-team 'Gauntlet for the Gold' edition of NWA-TNA.
While they were understanding that Hall and Waltman have a more mainstream following and fan-recognition, they still felt it would have been nice to fit the NWA-TNA "regulars" in on the show in some form
