Update On The WWE Firing Of Jeff Hardy
Sources: 1Wrestling/WWE.com
-- WWE.com today announced that Jeff Hardy has been released. The official announcement is available on the newsboard in the post below.
This doesn’t come as a major shock to most people, as Hardy has been tardy with his attendance at house shows, and was only working a 2 week house show month at the time WWE released him.
Hardy had been off TV due to ‘personal matters’ this past week, and has now been freed from his wrestling commitments. I wouldn’t expect to see him now work on the independent scene.

Further Information On Jeff Hardy's WWE Release
The WWE releasing Jeff Hardy was somewhat mutal as far as Hardy's desire to no longer pursue pro wrestling. Hardy had been wanting out, or at least extended periods of time off, for quite a while. He got just that earlier this week.
As far as money is concerned, Jeff Hardy is set for a long time. Hardy saved a lot of money made from his WWE career, so he doesn't necessarily have to go up and down the roads anymore.
There is some talk about Jeff Hardy going to NWA-TNA, as we've covered on this website before, but many feel Hardy will be done with wrestling cold turkey for a while. However, a one-time TNA shot isn't out of the question.

More on Jeff:
Before being released, Jeff Hardy had actually contacted WWE officials about quitting the company on two seperate occassions. Hardy had interest in further pursuing his music career, and had talked quite a bit about leaving the company. WWE always let Hardy slide with late appearances and things of that nature because they felt he was key for their teenage female demographic

here's a liitle bit more information i just found on prowrestling
Jeff Hardy did indeed fail a drug test a few weeks back and was asked to go to rehab by WWE officials. He refused to do so, giving WWE no choice but to release him. Many feel that if he opts to go down the road, WWE will likely rehire him.
