Edge learned earlier this week that he will need spinal fusion surgery which is expected to keep him out of the ring for a year. He’ll be having his C6 and C7 vertebrae fused. He will be joining a long list of others who have had recent problems with either their spinal cord or back including both Austin and Benoit.
Edge commented in a recent WWE.com interview that his body has taken a toll from so many steel cage matches, TLC, and other various hardcore matches. Over the last six years, Edge added, "If there’s a show, I’m on it, and I think for a while now, my body’s been saying, ‘Hey, can we take a break?’"
