This week, Sean Waltman joined the No Holds Barred radio show and here are the highlights.
He opened by saying he was excited to be in Vegas with Joanie in the locker room of the MGM Grand and stated that the hosts would be very happy as well if they were looking at what he was looking at.
He said that he felt he bent over backwards to help NWA TNA get over by taking less money to work for them but said he still hopes they succeed because it's needed for the wrestling business.
He wanted no part of Vince Russo having any creative control of any of his matches and claimed that Russo was going behind Jerry Jarrett's back to talk with the Panda Energy people which ultimately led to him being put into a stronger position with the company.
He mentioned Roddy Piper as being old school and he agrees that many wrestlers die prematurely. However, he had a big problem with Roddy's statements about Owen Hart. Sean was in the building the night Owen died and he said a death should never be part of a storyline. He also noted that Piper was a guy who cares a lot about the business and sometimes goes about things the wrong way but was never the kind of guy to do a job for someone if it was needed.
He has lots of personal issues with the WWE and has no intentions of going back there.
Commented on the story in Playboy in which Joanie Laurer stated that Triple H cheated on her with Stephanie McMahon and it eventually led to her losing her job. Sean said Joanie is a good person and is not a liar and she was telling the truth but he didn't want to get too deep into the situation.
He mentioned Japan as a strong possibility for future work.
Talked about his upcoming match with 2 Cold Scorpio on 12/28 at the 3PW show and said if he ran a company, he would make a move to sign him right away.
His favorite WWE moment was the DX invasion of WCW.
His favorite WCW moment was his tag match with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall vs. Roddy Piper, Ric Flair and Kevin Greene. He said some people in the match had a problem with him being involved in the match because they didn't feel he was a big enough star but afterwards he had forced them to respect him because he earned it in the ring.
A great in depth interview with one of the more honest individuals from the wrestling business. To hear the entire interview, log on to www.noholdsbarredwrestling.com.
