Steve Austin Appearance Leads To An Arrest!
COLONIAL HEIGHTS - An autograph session tonight for "Stone Cold" Steve Austin produced some unhappy fans and one arrest when many in the crowd did not get a chance to see the professional-wrestling star.
One man was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest at the session, held at a Circuit City home electronics store to benefit area youth organizations, Colonial Heights police Sgt. William Anspach said.
An estimated 5,000 people showed up for the scheduled one-hour event, and about 3,000 got inside the store to see Austin before he left.
"They had more people than what they expected," Anspach said. "When they cut it off, some of the people who were there waiting got upset."
The event was held to mark the opening of the chain's new Southpark mall store.
"We just had an overwhelming response," company spokeswoman Ann Collier said. "Certainly we regret that we couldn't accommodate everybody."

Jim Ross Speaks On Austin's Return, Goldberg's Debut, More;
(Thanks To Ryan Clark For the Following)
Good Ol' JR himself was on Rick and Brad who were in Las Vegas, but they had a lengthy interview nonetheless. I missed the first part of it, but here is what the last 2/3 of the interview consisted of:
Said that Jerry Lawler's new book (due in December) is hilarious. He has the most informative information on the entire Andy Kaufman saga, and how they both fooled Letterman. Highly recommended the book.
On Goldberg: He said that he meets with Goldberg's agent nearly every week, as he shares the same agent as HHH. He said that Goldberg has a great deal now, and being that he wants to get into movies, Goldberg isn't as interested in getting into WWE as they would like. JR said that his "selling point" each week is, "look what we've done for the Rock." He talked briefly that he thought Goldberg got somewhere in the neighborhood of 5-6 million dollars from Time Warner.
On Hogan: He plugged the new book and said that Hogan and WWE just had creative differences and that's why Hogan isn't on TV right now. JR said that Hogan wanted one more run as WWE champ, but JR's response was, "The WWWE champ doesn't need to have an AARP Card." He stated that he didn't actually say that, but he thought it, and now that he's said it, it will be on the internet in 10 minutes. (Youre right JR). He stated that Hogan wants what he wants, and is rarely willing to accept anything but that. JR did say that they want to get him back, but he just isn't sure that they will.
Finally, on Austin: He thinks Austin will be back for "about a year, then start winding down." He said part of the reason Austin left was that the writing for his character wasn't the best, but, "We did some cool stuff with Stone Cold." He also said, "Austin has told me this himself, 'My career has unfinished business.'"

WWE Magazine, WWE Rumors, Steph & More
Here is a preview of the Holiday 2002 issue of WWE Magazine:
Cover: Stephanie McMahon - Talkin' Smack
Poster: Stephanie McMahon (both sides)
Strength in Numbers: The alliance between Triple H and Ric Flair is bad news all around
Smacking Down Her Enemies: Smackdown! General Manager Stephanie McMahon sits down for our WWE Magazine Q&A
Three Minutes to Agony: Rosey and Jamal show no signs of ending their reign of terror on Raw
Back to Extremes: What did Triple H unleash when he picked a fight with Bubba Ray Dudley?
Third Time's the Charm: Go behind the scenes for an insider's look at the making of Tough Enough III
Truly Merciless: Relive the bloodbath of Hell in the Cell and the rest of No Mercy
Here are WWE predictions for 2003 from the Informer section of the latest issue of WWE Magazine:
- Chris Nowinski will become heavyweight champion with Kevin Nash's help.
- Two new champions will be crowned at Wrestlemania XIX and a blond-haired "icon, legend and larger-than life" superstar will retire following his/her match.
- Two superstars who are not on the current WWE roster will come in and wreak havoc. Most fans would have wanted to see a dream match between these two a few years ago but they will team up for most of the year until breaking up and facing each other at Wrestlemania XX.
- Brock Lesnar and Batista will battle in an inter-promotional match.
- One diva on the roster "will have a lot of explaining to do" dealing with the Triple H/Kane/Katie Vick storyline.
- Rey Mysterio will accomplish something no other cruiserweight has accomplished in the history of WWE/WWF. However, it probably won't be Mysterio winning the WWE title.
- Eric Bischoff will find out that one of his "crown jewels" is actually a mole for Stephanie McMahon and we will be shocked to see who it is.
- Torrie Wilson will take a leave of absence from Smackdown! to act in a major film due out in late 2003.
- Kurt Angle will have a major announcement in June which won't involve him leaving but rather regarding some unfinished business that will affect "Stephanie's father".
- A "monster" will arrive from OVW with his "diminutive" manager.
- Kanyon will be on a WWE Magazine cover in 2003.

Saturn & DDP Released From WWE, More Talent Cuts Expected
Perry Saturn was officially released from WWE this week. The decision to inform him that his contract would not be renewed was made while he was injured, but he will be paid the remainder of his contract which expires in January.
DDP and WWE mutally agreed to terminate his contract due to the fact that he has no desire in working for pro wrestling anymore. WWE wanted him to become a color commentator, and while DDP was interested, during his retirement from the ring he began gaining more interest in other fields.
There is talks in WWE right now to cut back on the talent roster. At this point it's nothing more than small talk, but a definite possibility for the near future

Edge's Issue With Management, Steiner's Backstage Behavior
The following are highlights from the Edge and Scott Steiner interviews on yesterday's "Byte This!":
Edge is very confident wrestling now, confidence that came about when Edge had his series of matches with Angle that fans absolutely loved. Edge also enjoys working with Rey Mysterio, and the two get along well outside of the ring. Edge, however, prefers singles matches to tag team. He did have a problem with his Survivor Series match, as he felt it should have been allotted 45 minutes, instead of 25. He also thought Angle and Benoit (who were the most over competitors) should have been eliminated last.
Steiner was not sure how MSG would react to him when he debuted at Survivor Series. He just went out and did his best, hoping to get lots of cheers. Steiner claims to have no trouble with anyone backstage and does not cause problems. Steiner claimed, in kayfabe, that the name "Big Bad Booty Daddy" came from the fact that he beat Wilt Chamberlain's record of "being with" 20,000 women. He also put over Lesnar for his amazing pair of F-5s to Big Show.

Controversy Over Jim Ross, Spoiler On New Wrestler In WWE
Many were curious as to what the logic behind leaving Jim Ross in the segment on SmackDown! where Stephanie McMahon was about to suspend Brock Lesnar, but let him off the hook, was. Jim Ross himself says it every week in the Ross Report, SmackDown! has the advantage of being edited before airing, so there's no excuse for leaving him in the segment. Many in the backstage area who are quick to defend good ol' JR were very curious as to why he was in the segment, when they knew full well that JR had the format sheet and knew that segment was about to be shot.
For those curious as to who Jamie Noble was referring to when he said he had to call his cousin "Nunzio" and bring him to SmackDown, it's expected to be James "Little Gudio" Maritato. Maritato, known to the ECW cult-followers as Little Guido from the FBI stable, recently signed with WWE alongside another Cruiserweight sensation, Spanky.

Huge Heat Between Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage, More Trouble
If you remember an interview from a few months back, when asked on Bubba The Love Sponge if Randy Savage would be coming to WWE, Hogan said "I hope not, I hate that son of a pregnant dog!". There is indeed real life heat between the two, which obviously prompted Hogan to make such a strong statement.
Many close to the situation claim that the relationship between the two is worse than it has ever been. It is being referred to as "mutual hatred".
One interesting tidbit is that Hulk Hogan was contacted about an endorsement deal for "Slim Jim". Anyone who has watched commercials during wrestling in the past ten years knows that Randy Savage was the long-time spokesman, with his signature "Snap into a Slim Jim" slogan.
To make matters worse for Savage, Gorgeous George (a former real-life girlfriend for Savage) has plans to release a book revealing details about their relationship, which reportedly involved a very messy breakup.

Former WWE Superstar Retires Through Back Injury
Source: USA Pro Wrestling
-- Former WWE main eventer Bam Bam Bigelow, has had to retire from Pro Wrestling at the age of 41, through back injury. The announcement was made at Friday's USA Pro Wrestling Show by promoter Frank Goodman.
-- Bigelow suffered severe burns in the summer of 2000 whilst saving a child from a forest fire. Since then, he has had recurring trouble with his back, the injury which has forced him to retire. He will have surgery on the injury but will not be making a return to the ring.
-- Bigelow’s "Big 3" career was all but over when McMahon purchased WCW, as his age counted against him when WCW wrestler’s contracts were picked up. Send any letters of well wishing directly to Frank Goodman of USA Pro Wrestling and they will be passed to Scott (Bam Bam).

Molly Holly's Absence From RAW, Kurt Angle/Olympics, & More
Those who have viewed RAW in the past several weeks know that Molly Holly has been clearly absent from TV. Despite what many would speculate, she is not in any sort of trouble with management. She is simply off TV because there is no on-air role for her at this time. WWE only likes to have one key feud involving female wrestlers, and that feud is currently Trish Stratus versus Victoria.
There is huge feeling that if Kurt Angle were to participate in the 2004 Olympics, it would be a failed effort. As seen with recent blowouts in Tyson-Lewis and Ortiz-Shamrock, the level of competition increases as time passes, and Kurt Angle, who has various injuries due to pro wrestling as well as his six-year absence from amateur wrestling, would not likely be able to win a gold medal with modern-day competition. As Kurt even pointed out himself in an interview, he, in his current state, would not be able to win a gold medal in the olympics.
