Brock Lesnar Injured, WWE/Fan Feedback, & More Story By: Matt Boone September 05, 2002
WWE has been taking a more hands-on approach to responding to fans feedback. Fans who have contacted WWE through e-mails on their corporate website receives responses for their questions. In some cases, a WWE represenative would provide a telephone number to talk to a WWE represenative directly.
Jim Ross was at the heavily promoted OVW show in Louisville, Kentucky last night. He mentioned that Brock Lesnar would not be able to compete as advertised due to suffering an injury on the SmackDown! tapings. Brock Lesnar was at the show nonetheless, and told the crowd the injury was not a work. Chris Benoit, who was also there, wrestled in his place.
I haven't heard word from anyone of Brock Lesnar suffering an injury at SmackDown! for what it's worth.

Austin's Divorce Dropped, Road Dogg/WWE, SmackDown Rating Story By: Richard Gray September 06, 2002
- It has been made clear that Stone Cold Steve Austin has apparently dropped the divorce proceedings that he filed against his wife Debra in July. It was reported that a Bexar County, Texas court dismissed Austin's petition to file for divorce when he chose to no longer pursue it last week. Austin will still however stand trial for misdemeanor charges against his wife Debra filed back in June where Debra was reportedly assaulted by Austin in their San Antonio home.
- Former WWE superstar, Road Dogg has reportedly been calling WWE employee, Jim Ross looking for work and was finally offered a cameo in the wedding based on his days in the New Age Outlaws with his partner being Billy Gunn. Johnny Ace contacted Road Dogg about the deal and not only offered him the booking, but a chance for him to patch up his past with Vince McMahon, due to the fact that Road Dogg left under such bad circumstances, however, Ace reported that Road Dogg’s attitude was so bad the deal was taken back to Ross and McMahon and was later pulled. WWE is reported to have no further interests in bringing Road Dogg back.
- WWE SmackDown did a 4.2 overnight broadcast rating on UPN with a share of 6. That number is reported lower than what the show has been scoring lately. The final rating should be out later today. Please remember that these ratings were compiled by Nielson Media Research.

Lilian Garcia Signs Record Deal, WWE Smackdown News Story By: Ben Johnson September 06, 2002
Smackdown for last night scored a 3.2 rating. Although that is low, keep in mind that it went up against pre-emptions in several major cities (such as New York) and had to compete against the NFL opener on ESPN. With both programs having a similar audience, Smackdown for this week (unlike RAW and the Labor Day scenario) should be viewed as a positive.
Lilian Garcia has signed a record contract with Universal. This may seem somewhat strange as she is a WWE employee and would be expected to record for Smackdown Records, but it is indeed a Universal deal. Her first album will be released in 2003 and is to contain the single "Shout". Meredith Brooks, who performed the hit "pregnant dog" in 1997, will be co-writing and producing the album with Garcia.

Breakdown on the WWE/Goldberg Situation, Why He Won't Sign Story By: Matt Postoian September 06, 2002
- The reason behind Bill Goldberg choosing to not sign with WWE is due to money issues. This may not be a big update to many people but, from what was told backstage in the WWE, Goldberg's only reasons were due to the pay roll being so low. In WCW Ted Turner choosed to pay some of the wrestlers in the millions (i.e. Bret Hart with 2 million). Of course this would not happen in the WWE. Where as Vince Mcmahon doesn't even get that much spending money.
The WWE has contacted Goldberg's people a few times in the last couple of years and the same has always came out of the situation. To sum it up in one sentence, The money is the problem in this case. If Goldberg were to ever sign with the WWE it would be for big money, the WWE is not up for paying that at this time.
From what we know, the conflict is only on one side of the court. In other words, Goldberg's people wan't as much money as they can get and won't budge at all. And The WWE is content in the amount of money offered. So it looks as if this is a dead situation at this time.

WWE News & Notes: Austin/WWE Situation, Appearances Story By: Matt Postoian September 07, 2002
- Jim Ross stated in his latest Ross Report that Steve Austin could be back in the WWE once he addresses his personal problems. On an update on the topic, I think we all know that the WWE would not hesitate one second to get Austin back in the thick of things once he's good and ready, as that is not the case now. Right now it's not a case of if the WWE would want Austin back, It's if Austin is ready to return to action. Of course the WWE would be concerned with his appearances since he walked out at 2 shows last year. There is currently no update on Austin/WWE talks, although if Steve ever was ready to return, supposedly he could.
- WWEShopzone.com is advertising a new Chris Jericho T-Shirt on sale now. On the front of the shirt it reads "I am the King of The World." On the back is says "and you just live in it." The selling price is $25.00.
- This Sunday September 8th, Maven and Dawn Marie will be appearing at the official WWE booth in the "Village of the Damed" at Ozzfest.

Latest On X-Pac's Status: New Name, NWA-TNA, more Story By: Matt Boone September 07, 2002
There is a lot of confusion as to where X-Pac will go for a deal more lengthy than the expected short-term deal he will strike with Japan. Since being released by WWE, or parting mutually I should say, X-Pac has been the center of a lot of talk in many internet circles. Many jump the gun to assume he will head to NWA-TNA with his friend Scott Hall, however that is a deal that could go either way.
While Hall was one of the stars who worked with NWA-TNA from the first show, his 4-show deal has since expired. He has shown interest in working behind-the-scenes, or possibly renewing his deal to work a few more shows, nothing too long-term. However, there has been no moves made to get him back as part of the roster due to the promotion mainly attracting fans of in-ring work. That could be where X-Pac fits into the equation.
No one can deny X-Pac's in-ring skills, and he would fit in well with the X-Division in NWA-TNA if he were willing to work the non-heavyweight division for the first time in his career. X-Pac is friends with both Jeff Jarrett (co-owner of NWA-TNA), and Ron "The Truth" Killings (heavyweight champion of NWA-TNA) and many believe it's a matter of time before NWA-TNA officials take up the two-shot deal of signing Hall and X-Pac to short term contracts.
Some believe that it is possible that the deal could be finalized in time for Hall and X-Pac to work the next live NWA-TNA pay-per view, which is on September 18 under its' usual Wednesday timeslot.
X-Pac obviously wouldn't be able to wrestle under the gimmick name of X-Pac due to copyright hassle, but did obtain the rights to "Syxx-Pac" which WWE owned the trademark on but gave it to X-Pac as part of his settlement with the company.

RAW Title, Lesnar Being Downgraded, RAW/Football Story By: Ben Johnson September 08, 2002
The following rumors (key word) come from BlackJack Brown of the Suntimes:
As all wrestling fans know by now, HHH was officially crowned as the first-ever "RAW" champion on Monday. This means that RAW superstars will no longer compete against Lesnar for the title (he is exclusive to Smackdown) but against HHH.
With this title being made, it does seem to open the door for a title unification mega-match some time down the road. However, Brock Lesnar (the Smackdown champion) and his title now mean less, as he is not the ultimate Undisputed champion, just the leader of a specific show. Being that Brock Lesnar is still a young talent and needs to be pushed further, the Undisputed title would have been a great way to get him over even more.
WWE certainly has hopes of bringing viewers back to RAW with the introduction of this title. Although the ratings for this past Monday were disappointing, with Monday Night Football now on, WWE needs to restore all the interest possible to RAW.
