McMahons/Court Case, WWE Wrestlers Happy, Wrestlemania News
The latest word I am receiving is that both Linda and Vince McMahon, along with the entire WWE team, were very happy when the verdict from the Bass trial came in. Although it was obvious in their minds that Bass had absolutely no case, one never can be sure how a jury will look at the evidence.
I was also informed that the mood backstage at Smackdown yesterday was extremely positive. It was good not only due to the Bass verdict, but also because of the 3.8 RAW rating. Knowing that RAW was a hot show, Smackdown talent was very psyched about their tapings.
In addition to this year's Wrestlemania being held in Seattle, RAW on the following night will also be in the city. WWE does this so that any heat from the Wrestlemania PPV will carry over onto RAW, helping them out with getting over angles.

Steve Austin's Trial, Bubba Ray Injury Update, & More
As previously reported, Mark Lamonica, aka Bubba Ray Dudley, suffered a concussion on last Monday's RAW during the TLC match. WWE plans on keeping Bubba Ray out of the ring until he receives complete and full medial clearance. Apparently, Bubba has been suffering from a pinched nerve in his neck and dropped Lance Storm directly on his head, botched a scary spot with Triple H and a table, and gave himself a concussion, all in under a month's time. WWE is said to feel lucky that no one was further injured by the decision to put Bubba Ray back in the ring a bit prematurely from a pinched nerve injury.
Steve Williams, aka "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, is scheduled to appear in court today. Austin is being charged with misdemeanor domestic voilence and the case will be tried in Bexar County, Texas. As soon as we get word on a verdict and any other significant details, we will be sure to pass those along immediately.

Details From Steve Austin's Trial Today
For those unaware, Steve Austin had a hearing today in Bexar County, Texas regarding charges filed against him stemming from the June 15th incident where Debra called the police on Austin. Debra claimed Austin had assaulted her, but did not press charges. The district attourney pursued the case on his own, and the hearing was today.
Nothing of great significance came from today's hearing. Basically, another new court date was set.
A warrant had been issued for Austin's arrest on August 12 and he turned himself into local authorities on August 13. He was charged with misdemeanor domestic assault and released after posting a $5,000 bond.
As more on this story develops, we will be sure to have the latest for you right here.

WWE Stocks, and Jurors Talk About Bass Case
(Thanks To Bryan Dunn For The Following)
-- WWE Stocks have gone down, and down big time did they ever. Stocks have fallen 5.51% since yesterday's trade, and closed today at an all time low of 7.55. Today's range was 7.55 - 7.95. d**n, I was going to buy some too...maybe right now is the best time, so it'll go up later, I'll be counting my cash!
-- Right after the Nicole Bass lawsuit was dismissed from court, jurors spoke with the media regarding their decision. 63 year old Jim Singletary, 63 years old, told the NY Daily News that the whole thing was like a fabrication. "She just wanted money," added another juror, Cliff Hasey, 44 years. He admitted that he's a wrestling fan and even got Steve Lombardi's autograph on his way out. Pete Sutich, 39, said that there may have been instances when WWE male wrestlers entered the women's locker room but nothing to what Bass claimed. Bass told the reporters that she was glad to take this the court saying she stood up for her rights and women's rights.

Steve Austin's Assult Trial Delayed & More
The San Antonio Express-News reports that the Steve Austin trial has been delayed until his attorney is ready to go forward with the case.
Austin arrived at the County Court with his wife Debra and told reporters that he's glad that she was there to support him. Debra did not speak with reporters and gave them the usual 'no comment.' Austin's attorney asked for an additional 30 days to prepare.
The new date has been set for October 24th. On that day there will be a hearing during which a trial date will be scheduled. Assistant District Attorney Scott Simpson notified Austin's attorney - Van Hilley - that he could call up to 15 witnesses for the trial.
Austin faces a misdemeanor charge of assault causing bodily injury after on June 15th he hit his wife at their home in Texas. He can be sentenced to a year in jail and pay a $4,000 fine.

Huge Update On Royal Rumble Spoiler, Kurt Angle News, & More
After speaking with a correspondent of this website, I have received some interesting news from the OVW TV Tapings, which took place last night. Certain elements of the show followed up on the Royal Rumble Spoiler from last week, which indicated that "the best talent in OVW" would be in the big match at the Royal Rumble PPV.
To open the show, Jim Cornette announced that the program would be called "Run For The Rumble" and will be a single-elimination tournament. After a series of matches, the winner of the tournament will face the OVW Champion, Nova. The ultimate winner will be invited to participate in the Royal Rumble. The men involved in the tournament are Rob Conway, Nick Dinsmore, Damaja, and Doug Basham.
Additionally, Sergeant Slaughter announced that the wrestler who earns the Royal Rumble shot would also wrestle Kurt Angle at the OVW show on November 16. As always, we'll keep you posted here at this website.

Original Billy/Chuck/Rico Storyline, Juvi Guerrera Tryout Result
Source: WO Newsletter
-- Juventud Guerrera was involved in a dark match before a WWE event a few weeks ago. Guerrera was told before the match to make sure he "slowed down his pace and limited his high spots", so that WWE could get a grasp on whether he can wrestle a storybook style of match.
Apparently, instead of taking into account what was asked of him, The Juice simply did the exact opposite, and was faster in the ring, with more high spots. Needless to say, such behavior did not put him on the good side of WWE, and thus he was not offered any form of contract.
-- The original plan for Billy and Chuck after their wedding ceremony was to split them up and send one member to RAW. However, due to the tremendous ovation the pair got, this idea has been s Rubbishped.
-- Also on the topic of ideas which were s Rubbishped, it was rumored that the original storyline for Rico would've involved him losing his first two matches on RAW and be fired by Bischoff.
Rico would then've gone "crawling back" to Stephanie McMahon for his job back, at which point Stephanie would've put Rico through many embarrassing tasks to make him earn his job.

Huge Update On Steve Austin To WWE, Court Case, More
Apparently WWE, especially Vince McMahon, is said to be wanting Steve Austin to return now more than ever. Word going around is that the ball is in Steve Austin's court to make a return, as WWE would likely "open up the doors" for him to return after saying "the doors are not open for Austin to return" on the Jim Ross/Vince McMahon special on Confidential.
As far as Steve Austin is concerned, he is said to be unsure whether or not he wants back in WWE. A major part of why he left was the creative direction of the company, and Austin apparently doesn't favor storylines going on lately (I.E. - Kane's murder, Undertaker cheating on his wife). So it's unlikely that Austin will be back anytime soon, because according to sources, Austin feels the creative direction of the company is the same, if not worse, then it was when he decided to walk out.
Austin has been keeping himself in shape in case he ever did want to entertain a return offer, but hasn't made much contact with WWE. Austin has been dealing with his domestic problems lately, which saw him enter a court room in Bexar County, Texas yesterday to defend himself against misdemeanor assault charges to his wife, Debra Williams. Austin's attourney's requested a continuance, and it was granted. The exact date is not known yet, but basically Austin's case was delayed.

4-Horsemen Return In WWE, Billy/Chuck Breaking Up
Originally, there was a plan to have Eric Bischoff "fire" Rico from the RAW brand leaving him to go crawling back to Stephanie McMahon. As the story went, Stephanie would then make Rico do humiliating things on SmackDown! week after week.
In similar news, there was an original plan to split up Billy and Chuck and have the two go off into singles competition, but that, along with the above Rico storyline, have both apparently been s Rubbishped from the plans.
There is a rumor going around that WWE is contemplating bringing back a 4-Horsemen stable in WWE featuring Ric Flair and Triple H along with two others. While it is still in small discussions, and nothing is confirmed at all, it is definitely an idea going around during production meetings.

Kane/HHH Match Off Of No Mercy Card, Lawler/Puppies, more
Source: Various
-- Just a note that if you are frustrated that you missed Jerry Lawler on last night’s episode of Insomniac w/ Dave Attell (the episode with the Naked Jell-O match), don’t fret too much as it was a repeat from early/mid September.
-- Thanks to reader Eric Rivera for the following:
I saw Pete from TE2 in a Subway in the financial district in downtown New York City. It looks like he may be working as a trainee for a brokerage house. He was wearing a shirt and tie. I would like to have said hello but he was with a bunch of his fellow employees who were quite obnoxious (all those boiler room types are)."
-- And finally, many readers have been emailing in pointing out that the Triple H vs. Kane match for the Unification of the Intercontinental and Worlds Title has been omitted from the match listings over at WWENoMercy.com.
This, however, does not mean that the match will not occur at No Mercy, as the WWE have continued with the Kane/HHH storyline. The omission is most likely a complete mistake, something the WWE website team is very prone to.

Huge News: Test Possibly Getting Fired From WWE
In a follow up on the last few stories I have reported regarding backstage heat on Test, apparently the situation is a lot worse than it seems.
Test recently expressed to WWE management that he felt his future was as an actor, not a pro wrestler. Many are starting to doubt Test's commitment to the business, which has garnered him a lot of heat.
If that wasn't bad enough, Test completely refused to even consider cutting his hair when WWE officials requested he and Christian do so to give the UnAmericans a similar look. He has since also denied the request of WWE officials to change from his leather pants to regular wrestling tights.
WWE management are said to be irate as Test for blowing an angle in the UnAmericans that they spent a good amount of television time on and had high hopes for. Many go as far to say Test's days in WWE are numbered right now. More on this story as it comes in.

SmackDown Scenes Re-Taped, Royal Rumble
WWE has confirmed that they will go on a three day tour of India this November. WWE has not been to India in 6 years. Last time they were there, the shows were a tremendous success. The RAW brand will be making the tour which starts on November 21st at J.N. Stadium in New Delhi. The other two dates are on the 22nd in Mumbai (Bombay) and the 23rd in Bangalore. Bradshaw and Ivory will be making the long trip to India on October 28th to start ticket sales and release more tour information to the media.
OVW has announced that they will be holding a tournament to decide who represents the promotion at the 2003 WWE Royal Rumble. "Ironman" Rob Conway will face Nick Dinsmore while Doug Basham will face Dammaja. The winner of the 4-man tournament will face Nova for the OVW Title. The winner of that match will go on to participate in the 2003 Royal Rumble, be crowned OVW Champion, and face Kurt Angle in two weeks at the OVW TV taping.
WWE taped many of the vignettes for Smackdown again following the show on Tuesday. Nine of the vignettes were done over again which means that some of the things that air will be different from what was reported on the spoilers.

Martha Hart Puts Out Book About Owen The following is an excerpt from The Toronto Sun: "Martha Hart is telling it like it is. After suing the World Wrestling Entertainment and forcing it to concede $18 million US last year in an out-of-court settlement for herself, her two children and her in-laws, the widow of wrestling star Owen Hart has put her account to paper. Along with Calgary Sun sports writer Eric Francis, Hart has authored a book, Broken Harts, The Life and Death of Owen Hart, published by Key Porter. The book is about her life with Owen and provides a full account of the events leading up to and after his fall in a pay-per-view event in Kansas City on May 23, 1999. The fall, which happened in the Kemper Arena, drew worldwide attention, as did her stance against the mighty sports and entertainment giant. "I really felt I needed to write a book to describe everything that I lived through, including my personal grief and my loss, the children's loss, our life together, everything," Hart said in a recent interview with The Toronto Sun at her Calgary home. "People couldn't understand the whole story without it coming from me and I felt there were lots of distorted versions out there and that I needed to clear the air and say my piece the way it should be said. I felt the only way to have the truth be known is to hear it from me..." For the full article, go to www.canoe.ca/SlamWrestling/oct7_hart-sun.html
