Backstage Rebellion News: Kurt Angle As A Face, Benoit, more
The following are highlights from a backstage interview WWE did with Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit at Rebellion:
Fans in Europe love Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle. The WWE Tag Team Champions have received deafening reactions these last few nights, as they’ve defended the titles against Eddie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero. Fans have signs like "Kurt Angle Does Not Suck in the U.K."
Angle even ran down Britain, accusing the people of having bad teeth. Fans booed for a moment, but still cheered wildly when the American hero came to the ring. "It seems like the last few months I’ve started to see a change in attitude of the fans toward the character of Kurt Angle," Angle said. "I might talk a lot of Rubbish, but lately I’ve been able to back it up. I think it’s more of a respect thing for what I’ve been able to do."
Benoit attributes the reactions they’ve been getting more to the fans’ dislike of the Guerreros than their like of Benoit and Angle.
"Being in there with the Guerreros," he said, "they’re a great heel tag team.
But Benoit agreed that the fans here appreciate Angle.

Booker T & Jamie Noble Both Suffer Painful Injuries
The following is from WWE.com:
Booker T said he suffered a hyperextended left knee last night at the event in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He said the ring ropes seemed to be looser than usual, which may have caused the problem. Booker said he actually thought the problem was worse, but today he says he’s OK and he doesn’t foresee missing any ring time. The muscle right above his knee is terribly sore, but with the reactions he’s been getting at these events, he said he forgets the pain as soon as his music hits.
As a result of three kicks to the ear from Tajiri – one of which came at No Mercy, the others over the last few days of this tour – Jamie Noble has a very painful and swollen left ear. Unfortunately, the swelling will never fully go away. But as a consultation, he now joins Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle in the "Cauliflower Ear Club." Noble also said that half of one of his back teeth has broken off, and he’s not even sure how that happened. He said he was planning to visit the dentist when he gets home.
"You can’t see it," he said. "It just hurts like hell now."

Update On Scott Steiner's WWE Debut
Some are under the impression that Scott Steiner will be working on the SmackDown! brand, it seems almost inevitable at this point that Steiner will be working with RAW.
On the official WWE website there is an article about WWE wrestlers opinions on Scott Steiner. Many noticed that besides Booker T, everyone who commented was a SmackDown! superstar. There is nothing to that other than the fact that the SmackDown! crew, and Booker T due to Undertaker's absence, is doing shows overseas which is where the WWE website crew was.
While there's no guarantee that Steiner will debut this Monday on RAW, it's still a possibility. It looks as though Steiner won't have any dates to fulfill with Andrew McManus's WWA tour, but that is still not confirmed. However, many are under the impression that Steiner wouldn't have signed the dotted lines with WWE if he still had dates through November to fulfill.

After the match, Torrie Wilson, Edge and Rey Mysterio came out to join Booker and Rikishi. Each Superstar did his/her version of the spinneroonie! And then they all dance for the crowd.

RAW Writing Team Backstage Controversy, more
The following news is derived and re-written from the Torch Newsletter.
Several wrestlers within WWE feel the company needs to hire younger agents. One side of the argument is that the current agents can't relate to the modern day in-ring style of performing. The flip-side of the coin is many feel the agents have been around long enough to have seen it all. Interesting enough to note, the same people complaining about wanting younger agents are those who complain about the writing team being too young.
The general consensus amongst most on the RAW roster is that writer Brian Gewirtz is not worthy of his high status as lead writer for the RAW side. No one doubts Gewirtz's ability to incorporate comedy into a lot of segments when necessary, but still feel he would be more valuable to the company in a smaller role.
Many RAW wrestlers were happy to hear about the trading of sorts in writing teams of Bruce Prichard (formerly of RAW) to SmackDown! and Michael Hayes (formerly of SmackDown!) to RAW. The general feeling among all RAW wrestlers is that it's good to finally have a 'wrestling guy' on the writing team. Many feel it's painfully obvious that since the brand extension, no one on the RAW writing team has ever been in the ring.
